Obsidian

Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass that comes in a variety of forms. It is found within the margin of rhyolitic lava flows, known as “Obsidian flows.” Because of the glassy nature of the stone, Obsidian has sharp edges when fractured that were used for piercing and cutting tools throughout history. One of the most common tools made from Obsidian were arrowheads.

Metaphysical Properties

Obsidian is a powerful protection stone that can also help with stabilizing energy when feeling scattered. It encourages individuals to be more alert and aware of their surroundings, and helps put up a shield against harm, making Obsidian a great stone to carry with you while traveling.
